    “We stayed at dolphins for 6 nights with 6 adults and 3 children.”


    The property is a mixed bag. It can no longer be described as recently refurbished, now having some wear and tear, but overall leaves a nice impression. While we were there, some maintenance men turned up to fix an issue which must have been reported by the previous holidaymaker ( a broken doorknob) so clearly they are on top of it. The location is excellent and most things have been thought of such as dishwasher tablets and some toilet rolls to get you started. The beach is a 10min walk, but you can also park and pay with your phone or card. Daymer bay toilets are 40p to use. There is also a nice cafe there too. We have stayed at places costing less than this that will also have milk in the fridge, fresh bread from a local baker and stocked loo rolls, even some bacon for your first morning. Small things go a long way. While it is well appointed we thought it was missing a few things. There is no parasol for the table outside, only two sun loungers and the BBQ is too small for the likely number of people staying. We also could not find any table cloths to use on the cushioned protector that was in place. The lounge and master bedroom are very spacious, but other rooms quite pokey hard to manoeuvre around the beds. The driveway and general area has narrow dirt tracks so can be hard to get around especially if you have a larger car. Overall we enjoyed our stay and none of these things would prevent us from returning, just trying to share our observations and experience which are hard to see from the listing alone.

Tucked away down a private track, Dolphins is a delightful holiday cottage located on the Greenaway on the North Cornwall coast. Recently refurbished with a contemporary finish, this self catering property is set in a fantastic position within just a short stroll from the family friendly Daymer Bay beach with plenty of golden sands and dunes to explore and calm waters to bathe in. Dolphins can cater up to 8 to 9 guests in 5 freshly decorated bedrooms suitable for large families or a group of friends coming together for a memorable Cornish holiday. The spaces at Dolphins are light and airy with a simple, modern finish including wooden floors, wood burner, newly fitted kitchen and modern bathrooms. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare a home cooked family meal after a long day on the beach with the dining area looking out over the garden towards the Camel Estuary. Retire to the living room of an evening to relax and unwind by the fire keeping you all warm and cosy as the night draws in. The ground floor bedrooms are all linked by the main hallway with plenty of storage for beach gear to walking kit that share two modern family bathrooms. The master bedroom is found on the first floor with the added luxury of a private balcony where you can enjoy a morning coffee with a view of Daymer Bay and the Camel Estuary. Dolphins is perfect to park up and forget about the car with plenty of activities to do all easily accessible from your doorstep. Choose from the exciting waves at Polzeath beach, the calm waters of Daymer Bay on the Camel Estuary, with the sailing hub of Rock and the beautiful harbour town of Padstow in sight. Miles of scenic coastal paths can be explored from Dolphins with the South West Coast Path found just beyond the garden, perfect for those keen to discover North Cornwall on foot. Wadebridge 8 miles.

Trebetherick straddles the Polzeath to Wadebridge road and extends west to Daymer Bay and northwest to Trebetherick Point, a rocky headland in the estuary. Daymer Bay with a sandy beach provides safe bathing for holidaying families and is also popular with windsurfers. Brea Hill located at the south end of Daymer Bay makes for an energetic walk for all. Trebetherick has a general stores and Polzeath is only half a mile away with a selection of shops and restaurants around a sandy surfing beach. The water sports haven of Rock is only 1 ½ miles away with a ferry running frequently between Rock and Padstow. The area has several coastal walking opportunities, and is close to St Enodoc's championship golf course. Rock also features a collection of shops including a delicatessen, butchers, and bakers, however for more extensive shopping facilities the town of Wadebridge is approximately 8 miles away.
