    “We have been holidaying in this area for 30 years but this was our first visit to Seascape for a special birthday gathering of 12 guests and it exceeded all our expectations.”

    It's a beautiful property with no expense spared in its modern build, with spectacular views and facilities. The ensuite facilities for all was a huge bonus and the wetsuit/drying area was ideal for muddy/sandy dog and human feet cleaning and drying, especially in the winter months! One warning, when unloading etc, the front door can easily lock you out if it shuts behind you without the key in hand or someone already inside! We did struggle a little with the Aga cooker but that was perhaps ...

We hope to return again in the future for another special occasion.

The property

A spectacular three-storey house overlooking the sparkling sea, Seascape sits just outside the centre of Polzeath, Cornwall. Seascape is the perfect property for a large group gathering, with six bedrooms sleeping up to 12 guests, for swimming, surfing or exploring Cornwall’s spectacular coast. You will have no problem parking up in the private driveaway and getting settled in straight away, where Seascape immediately greets you with amazing views of the sea in the open-plan living space; with a kitchen, dining area and sitting area, there is plenty of room for a group-effort fry up for the whole family and plenty of seating to watch the large Smart TV. The ground floor also has two cloakrooms and a spacious utility, equipped with a basin, two washing machines, a tumble dryer and two walk-in showers, with storage space to dump your wetsuits after a day of water sports. For a quiet space to get some work done, there is also a study area with a large desk, two seats and a side door onto the terrace, where you can enjoy the views. Seascape is bright and airy throughout with a lovely contemporary interior, making it difficult to choose between the six stunning bedrooms; two on the lower ground floor feature along side shower rooms and a games room, whilst another four on the first floor all have en-suites, so every guest is in for a great space to unwind after a busy day. To take in the breath-taking views, Seascape has a beautiful terrace where you can recline on the furniture or jump into the plunge pool for a refreshing start to the day, perhaps after a gym session for the very energetic! Although it may be difficult to tear yourself away from this idyllic property, pick up the South West Coastal Path from the front of the house and be sure to walk down to Polzeath, a lovely seaside village with small shops, cafes and restaurants, as well as the sandy beach promising the best surfing waves and beautiful coastal paths. In the other direction you will find Daymer Bay, where waves are gentler and a walk up the adjoining Brea Hills gives incredible views of the whole of the Camel Estuary. Further around the corner is the village of Rock, where you can hop on the foot ferry across to Padstow for retail therapy or perhaps hire a bike to take in the Camel Trail path to Wadebridge. For a day out further afield, try Pencarrow House and Gardens to discover the Iron Age fort and Lanhydrock House for your country house fix; both have lovely cafés and children’s areas. Port Isaac is a short journey away from Seascape and is an Area of Outstanding Beauty, where you will find classic slate-fronted Cornish houses in this picturesque fishing village, with plenty of walks inland and along the coast, as well as a sheltered harbour, perfect for skimming stones and spotting all the familiar sights from the TV series Doc Martin. Whether you are seeking relaxation or an escape to the great outdoors, Seascape offers all the amenities you could possibly need for a wonderful holiday by the coast.

POLZEATH

Wadebridge 7.5 miles; Padstow 16 miles.

The seaside village of Polzeath boasts a sandy beach, which is bordered by rock pools and is acclaimed to be one of the best surfing beaches in the country. Polzeath itself has a number of small shops, cafes and restaurants, and the South West Coast Path, a 630-mile route, runs through the village. Just over seven miles away is the popular market town of Wadebridge, which is set alongside the River Camel and offers an array of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as North Cornwall's only family-owned cinema. There’s wonderful countryside in the area, with the renowned Camel Trail passing through the town, and the nearby town of Padstow, with its harbour, pastel-washed medieval houses and celebrated restaurants is well worth exploring. Within driving distance is the UK surfing capital of Newquay, with over 11 miles of golden sandy beaches. Polzeath is an excellent base for exploring this part of Cornwall.
