Rock Oyster Festival is close to our hearts…and our office! Being based in Rock, this annual festival is a firm favourite in our calendars.

Read on to find out more about Rock Oyster Festival…
This year Rock Oyster will take place over the last weekend in July, from Friday 29 to Sunday 31 July.
Dinham House is primarily a wedding venue, but offers a stunning location for events like Rock Oyster.
The site is home to 40 acres of fields, perfect for hosting around 3,000 festivalgoers per day.
The more in-land fields are used for parking, whilst those overlooking the River Camel provide a scenic backdrop for the festival.
Rock Oyster is a food and music festival. Every year, the festival is hosted by a new chef and this year it’s Jack Stein and friends.
The name Stein might sound familiar, and you’d be right, it does! Jack is the middle son of famous chef, Rick Stein, and is a successful chef in his own right.
He began his career as a kitchen porter, waited on during his time at university, before returning to the kitchen. He is now the Chef Director and oversees all of the menus at the Stein restaurants.
If you’ve got yourself a ticket to this year’s event, you’re in for a treat.
There are a number of a amazing chefs on the roster. Rick Stein, Gizzi Erskine, Rosemary Shrager, Emily Scott and Richard Bertinet are just some of the culinary talents you’ll see on stage.
Watch cooking demos, attend masterclasses and purchase delicious ingredients from artisan makers.
The musical line-up won’t disappoint either. The headlining acts are Laura Mvula, Happy Mondays and Passenger. There will also be DJ sets from Huey Morgan, and the incredible Grandmaster Flash.
Head to the Rock Oyster website to see the full line-up.
If you can’t make it to the festival for the whole weekend, then why not consider getting a day ticket?
You can purchase separate tickets for all three days of the festival. This way if you’ve got other plans to enjoy on your north Cornwall holiday, you can still fit in one of north Cornwall’s favourite annual events.
Yes! Bring your whole tribe along. Rock Oyster has plenty to keep your kids entertained.
They can meet a mystical creature, Mischief the Mermaid, and even learn survival skills with Under the Canopy Cornwall.
There’s an outfit making workshop where kids can make amazing looks to showcase at the big fashion show.
The Flying Seagull Project will be coming along to the festival too! Whether watching their amazing circus skills or taking part in workshops and dance lessons, your little ones will love them.
If you’ve got a budding little chef in the family, then why not book them onto the Rick Stein Kids Cookery School class? Let them spread their cooking wings and have a go at making crab tacos.
We’ve highlighted some of the fantastic extras you can add to your north Cornwall festival experience.
Please bear in mind, these experiences are an additional cost to your Rock Oyster ticket.
The amazing masterclasses on offer at Rock Oyster will see you returning home as a fully qualified professional chef! Okay, maybe not professional, but you’ll certainly learn a thing or two.
If you want to explore some of your favourite alcoholic beverages, then book the Cornish gin cocktails class, or go for the beer and cider tasting.
For those wanting to scrub up on their seafood skills, attend the whole fish preparation class or the Singaporean crab class.
Get back to the simple life with masterclasses in kitchen gardens, cooking over fire and even smoking and curing.
Hot tubs and festivals? Yes please! If you want to start your day with a relaxing soak, or maybe you want to break up the day with a mid-afternoon warm-up, then you can make that happen.
Book a session in one of Kernow Springs‘ Scandinavian wood-fired hot tubs and take in the scenery.
The fun doesn’t stop with food, music, and relaxation. Rock Oyster have teamed up with a number of outdoor activity providers to offer a range of fun things to do.
Head off on a SUP (stand-up paddle boarding) adventure, or try SUP yoga. Head out on a sea kayaking trip, surf trip or coasteering adventure.
You can even head off on a foraging walk with former professional ecologist and forager, Caroline Davey. Explore the beautiful surrounds of the festival and learn how to pick out tasty treats all around.
