The property

Courtyard Cottage is a stunning three-bedroom cottage in the heart of the Cornish village of Delabole, a stone's throw from the peaceful, low-tide beaches of Tregardock, Trebarwith Strand and close to the fishing village of Port Isaac. Courtyard Cottage is a fantastic pet-friendly option for a group of couples or family of six, thanks to its convenient location near the amenities of the area and the beach as well as its proximity to the coastline. Within this country estate, you'll find Courtyard Cottage nestled just across the stony path from its two off-road parking spaces. Potter round to the front patio which furnished for relaxing with a cafetiere of morning coffee while soaking up the breath-taking scenery of the estate gardens which offers an extra communal lawn space that children will enjoy. Inside the cottage, the stylish deep emerald kitchen invites you to spend time as a family throwing together culinary delights and sitting back around the six-seater dining table over a bottle of fizz. When replete, head through the open plan space with its painted lime walls and wooden floors to the welcoming lounge area where you can relax on the sumptuous sofa in front of the attractive woodburning stove, perhaps losing yourself in the pages of a book. When nighttime calls, climb the stairs to the first floor, where you'll find a stylish shower room, along with three beautifully appointed bedrooms: a larger master with king sized bed and en-suite shower room and two twins which offer zip and link beds incase your group includes couples instead of children. Parties of adults or children will be delighted with all that the area offers. Drive two minutes down the road to visit the local Sea View Farm Shop for a hunk of homemade cake or cooked breakfast and hike from here down to the South West Coast Path to view the Atlantic from the cliff tops. Head north to the sleepy village of Boscastle where you can follow the stream down the lane, past the National Trust cafe to reach the historic harbour and walk to the top of the slope for a dramatic vista of the ocean. Be sure to time your trip with taking lunch afterwards at Boscastle Farm Shop; the perfect spot to indulge in their locally sourced cuisine while stocking up your fridge with fresh produce and locally sourced meats. Nearby, park the car up and walk to St. Nectans Glen in Trevethy where you'll be rewarded with your meander through the woodland with the sight of the breathtaking waterfall. Courtyard Cottages is well located on the north Cornish coastline to enable you to either head down to the sandy beaches to dive into the water at Polzeath or Lundy Bay or to head north to Trebarwirth Strand and further on, Crackington Haven. Children (or grown ups?!) will revel in the giant Slip and Slide at St. Endellion in the summer time and while they're soaked anyway, why not grab the snorkel gear for a dip at nearby Port Quin? No doubt there will be plenty of stories to tell; your adventure to Cornwall begins at Courtyard Cottage. About the location

DELABOLE

Tintagel 3.5 miles; Camelford 3.4 miles; Port Isaac 5.3 miles.

At one time the producer of the world’s best quality building and ornamental slate, this now sleepy village is just 2.5 miles from the high cliffs and dramatic scenery of the north Cornish coastline. Perfectly placed for walking the South West coastal path, exploring the high places of nearby Bodmin Moor, or for lazing on the beach at nearby Trebarwith Strand, it’s a well-placed holiday base. The peaceful harbour village of Port Isaac and the town of Tintagel, with its tourist attractions and King Arthur’s legendary castle, are both a short drive, while the stunning surfing beach at Polzeath is a mere nine miles away. Slaughtersbridge, where King Arthur reputedly fought his last battle, is five minutes away and a drive north along the coast takes in the beautiful cove at Crackington Haven. An area away from the main tourist crowds, but very central to a vast array of places and activities. Delabole Quarry itself is just down the road and is an interesting tourist attraction with stunning views. It is the gateway to great countryside walks.

Please note: for bed configuration, if you require the zip and link bed(s) to be configured differently, please inform us at least 7 days prior to your arrival date.
