The property

Chimings is a light, comfortable and stylish bungalow quietly tucked away in the charming seaside village of Rock, Cornwall.

Recently renovated and extended, this welcoming retreat offers a quiet escape for up to six guests, making it ideal for families or groups of friends.

Set within a private, south-facing garden, the home is just a short stroll from local amenities and the golden beaches of Rock, Daymer Bay, and Polzeath.

Inside, the open-plan living area is bathed in natural light, thanks to a roof lantern and large patio doors at both front and back.

This thoughtfully designed space features a modern, well-equipped kitchen with range style cooker and induction hob, a generous dining table and a comfortable seating area catching the evening sun—perfect for spending quality time together whilst cooking, dining and relaxing.

The spacious sitting room, through double doors off the kitchen, has a woodburning stove and comfortable leather armchairs and sofas, creating a homely spot to unwind.

It opens on to Chimings’ attractive back garden, an ideal enclosed space for children and pets to play safely, with distant views stretching out to the rolling Cornish countryside.

Throughout much of the home, mellow oak flooring adds warmth and character.

The three beautifully presented bedrooms are behind the hallway door, away from the main bustle of the living area, so children can have quiet time and get off to sleep whilst the adults eat or chill.

There are two twin rooms with zip and link beds and the spacious master bedroom with its en-suite bathroom & a super-king extra-long (7foot) bed, ideal for tall people who often find themselves uncomfortable in beds too small for them when on holiday!

All the mattresses are of excellent quality, deep and very comfortable.

There’s a sleek , stylish newly fitted modern family bathroom and an additional cloakroom, and a utility room with washing machine.

From this tranquil base, you’re perfectly placed to explore the best of North Cornwall.

Porthilly beach is close-by, just a half mile walk on the footpath across the fields.

Wander across Porthilly beach into Rock, where you’ll find a sailing club, water sports school, golf courses, and a variety of shops, cafés, and restaurants.

Scenic coastal paths lead to Brae Hill and Daymer Bay, a family-friendly beach ideal for swimming and windsurfing.

For surf lovers, Polzeath offers waves for all skill levels and a lively beach vibe.

Or hop on the ferry to Padstow to explore the Camel Trail and sample award-winning wines at the nearby Camel Valley vineyard.

About the location

ROCK

Padstow 1.5 miles via ferry; Polzeath 2.8 miles; Wadebridge 6.2 miles.

Rock is a desirable and much sought after coastal village located on the north eastern bank of the River Camel opposite the famous harbour town of Padstow which is easily reached by a regular ferry service. The summer home of royalty and celebrities offering top class restaurants and quality shops, the real draw is the array of watersports including sailing, water skiing, windsurfing and angling. Continuing on a sporting theme, the golf course at nearby St Enodoc is considered to be one of the best in the country. With an abundance of world class beaches all within a short radius it is easy to see why Rock holds its popularity.

Please be aware that generous flat sheets or extra deep fitted sheets are needed to fit the beds. New mattresses are deeper than mattresses used to be & zip and link beds longer than standard twin beds, 6ft 6ins /200cm rather than 6ft 3ins /190cm.

Bed dimensions:-

Master bedroom: 6ft wide x7ft long x 28cm deep.

Bedroom 2 and 3: zip and link twin beds each 3ft wide x6ft3in long, 25cm deep in one room and 20cm deep in the other

Please remember to bring your own beach towels with you, as these are not supplied.

There are 3 steps down to the rear patio from the sitting room doors with more level access from the front. Please take care to avoid trips and falls in the garden on the rustic stone footpaths, especially in wet weather when the natural slate patio and stone paths may be more slippery.
