“Property is in a good location, central to the village of Rock.”

Parking was in very tight spaces. Property was spacious downstairs, main bedroom was large, good ensuite, other two bedrooms were small. The property was very tired and in need of refurbishment, it was not very clean, sofas were uncomfortable. We had to clean some areas before we could use them, including hosing down the garden furniture as it was dirty and covered in cobwebs. The BBQ was very rusty and should not be used, this needs replacing urgently or should not be advertised as included ...

“Stayed in lindy cottage last year, but felt a little like it was frozen in time as maybe it could do with a bit of tarting up especially in the kitchen as the units could with a refresh.”

The 2 / 3 seater sofa seems to be now sagging so can be a little bit uncomfortable after a while. We always pick this cottage for our dogs holiday as well, so she just loves to roam and run around in the garden.

Comfortable beds, power shower in both bathrooms. Well maintained property within 5 min drive Rock to Padstow ferry, 2 miles from Polzeath surfing beach with lovely beach cafe. Very enjoyable stay.

“We had a lovely stay celebrating our twins 30th The cottage was very warm and cosy when we arrived .”

Very well equipped kitchen with plenty of utensils, cleaning products, cling film and foil. A Cupboard with a selection of games and plenty of books in the lounge. The beds were really comfy, though we had to turn off the radiators as the bedrooms were quite toasty by the time We went to bed, but not a problem. The garden was perfect and secure for our two GSPs who really enjoyed their first ever holiday. It was a really peaceful break in a great spot. Thank you.

“Absolutely loved our stay at Lundy cottage.”

Very comfortable everything we could possibly want. Just a couple of things the garden light didn’t wrk so that was a pain with taking dog out in the garden at night. Also there could have been a bit more fencing or wire on the fence with the neighbours cos if u have a small dog they can try n get under the fence. But a lovely cottage

“Lovely sheets Property not close to Rock centre.”

“There was conflicting information between the information brochure at the cottage and the letting agent (John bray) regarding the arrangements for pick off refuse,ie what day where do the bins go do we put new bags in ?”

The hoover needed emptying which we would have done ,but there were no bags available. We do not understand why we had to srip the beds as we are no longer affected by covid . The brochure supplied compared to other sykes accommodation was very basic.

“We had a lovely time at Lundy Cottage.”

All the rooms were great and the beds very comfy. A cottage with a good lay out and especially having the back garden over looking fields and south facing so we had some lovely sunsets and in summer you would have the sun out I am sure until about 9 30. It was in a good location to get to other places with out such a long drive. it is a cottage well equipped for families. We would definitely recommend it to friends and family.

“Wonderful property, well equipped, comfortable and clean.”

Great outlook from back garden which our dog and grandchildren enjoyed. Plenty of room for 4 adults, one dog and 2 small grandchildren, plus all of our clutter.1 tiny criticism, the kitchen would benefit from a couple of flat baking trays, but otherwise PERFECT!!

“This was our third stay at Lundy cottage.”

We like it here, it is exactly as described and was impressively clean (we have commented before about residual dog hair but no problem this time), so well done on that score. The cottage has everything we needed, although we were disappointed that Netflix is no longer available (this isn’t in the description but was available before). A couple of us found it difficult to get comfortable on the sofas (we are quite tall) and the extractor fans are very noisy which was a problem when someone went to bathroom during the night. Apart from those minor points we had a very enjoyable stay and hope to make a fourth visit one day.

“The property is spacious, away from the road and well-positioned for Rock and the surrounding area.”

The house was very well-equipped: books, games, jigsaws, every kitchen utensil you could imagine. It was great to have more than the bare minimum of plates, bowls, mugs etc so that the dishwasher could be run efficiently. There was plenty of cupboard space both in the kitchen and bedrooms. The showers were wonderful: so powerful and the water was hot! The whole house was very warm, which suited us! The house is very light, airy and tastefully decorated. It felt very homely. The back garden has wonderful open views across the countryside. There was parking for two vehicles very close to the house, even though we only used one space. It would be helpful to let visitors know that the cottage is located behind Lundy House and that the bins seem to be emptied on a Thursday. The property would benefit from a thorough maintenance check and deep cleaning more often between guests checking out and new ones arriving. Our experience was the kitchen in particular needed worktop surfaces degreasing; the microwave and oven / hob needed cleaning properly before we could use them; the kettle handle was sticky; plates / cutlery had been put away not properly clean; the dishwasher had runner wheels lying in the bottom so every time the top rack was pulled out, it fell off (which we think we have now fixed); there was no salt nor rinse aid in the dishwasher, so we had to purchase both; a number of the kitchen cabinet doors didn’t shut properly. Elsewhere in the house the toilet roll holder in the downstairs toilet is nearly falling off the wall. We had to buy toilet rolls as there were no spares and two were right at their end when we arrived. One usb wall socket charger in the main bedroom doesn’t work. As other people have said the sofas are not very comfortable. We had to pick up three lots of dog poo in the back garden when we arrived. The grass was very long and hadn’t been cut for some time. It was only cut on Thursday. All of these things added up to the house appearing to not be cared for, even though it is a lovely property in a fantastic place. Fortunately these things didn’t stop us having a good holiday.

“Lundy Cottage, has parking for two cars, which was needed for the five of us and dogs.”

House was very spacious, clean and well equipped, bedrooms were comfortable, with fresh linen and towels provided. The underfloor heating downstairs made the house very cosy which the parents (all over 80) loved. An enclosed and level garden which the dogs enjoyed more so than us, (due to the weather) is ideal with lovely views across the countryside. A gem of a property in a lovely location which we would all love to visit again.

“Excellent cottage, very good for dogs.”

Good equipment throughout. Confusing about refuse collection, perhaps a sign saying collection is by a private company (Excellent) on Thursday would be helpful. The Hoover which is in a bedroom cupboard is so full it hardly works. Otherwise very good and relaxing.

“The property was clean and beautifully presented.”

The beds were very comfortable with crisp white bedding. The showers were fab and big fluffy white towels felt luxurious. Kitchen was great with good range of pots and pans etc for cooking - we had a chef in the party who is very particular about these things. The only criticism was that one of the sofas in the lounge was not particularly comfy so we couldn’t all crash out at the end of the day.

Rock is a desirable and much sought after coastal village located on the north eastern bank of the River Camel opposite the famous harbour town of Padstow which is easily reached by a regular ferry service. The summer home of royalty and celebrities offering top class restaurants and quality shops, the real draw is the array of watersports including sailing, water skiing, windsurfing and angling. Continuing on a sporting theme, the golf course at nearby St Enodoc is considered to be one of the best in the country.
