“Beautiful cottage in beautiful surroundings, husband struggled with some of the door heights which is something we should have thought of.”

Kitchen needs a bit of an update washing machine broke down and they couldn’t repair it. We had to wash some of the utensils and crockery when we got there as they had dried in food on them which wasn’t very nice. All in all it was still a lovely peaceful place to stay and we would have stayed there again if it had been listed for next year, would definitely recommend it

The property

Please note there is a house being built in the cul-de-sac behind Old Kea Cottage - this is in a corner plot which is adjacent to the rear garden of the cottage.

Old Kea Cottage is an endearing character holiday cottage retaining many original features.

Adjoining open countryside and located and accessed via a quiet lane on the very edge of Rock village, Old Kea is an ideal hideaway for a small family of 4 looking for a peaceful retreat.

Only a gentle stroll to the many shops in the village and a short drive to the beautiful beaches, golf courses and coastal footpaths that surround Rock on the North Cornwall coast.

With a large sunny conservatory and a mature and secluded garden this self catering holiday house also has the benefit of a cosy open fire for those cooler evenings.

The unspoilt countryside views from the cottage are a charming contrast to the wilder Atlantic Ocean only minutes away. The cottage has a classic slate roof and pretty sash windows and the large family conservatory opens out onto the sunny and mature garden.

There are 3 bedrooms, one double and two singles with a useful shower room downstairs and a bathroom upstairs.

The kitchen/diner has everything you need to prepare family meals, with options to eat in there or in the light filled conservatory or even to roll out a picnic blanket to make the most of the garden.Guests can meet all their everyday shopping requirements within easy walking distance and also join some of the many footpaths directly from the cottage.

The wide sandy beaches are a very short drive down the road from the cottage and are perfect for families.

On a low tide its possible to stroll down the beach alongside the sand dunes and around the front of Brea hill right onto Daymer Bay.

When the tide rolls in from the mouth of the estuary the many footpaths that skirt the famous St Enodoc Golf course can guide you safely back to Rock without getting your feet wet!

Refreshments can be found in the car park at Daymer at the beach shop/cafe before you head back through the dunes. Accommodation: Kitchen/Diner Sitting Room Shower Room/W.C.
