“The photos of this property on the website are obviously from many years ago, the outside table and chairs are seriously weathered, and the games room bar is now covered with graffiti.”

The atrium feature in the living room leaks like a sieve in the rain, and has obviously been doing so for a while. The towel rail in the master bedroom is still not working ( we stayed last year and reported it not working then, - a year later and it is still not fixed?) We thought we would give this property another visit but would not stay again, it needs updating. The games room is great, and the location is good, parking also good. But definitely no longer worth the high price tag.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback following your recent stay. We're genuinely sorry to hear that the property didn't meet your expectations on this occasion, particularly as you chose to return after staying previously. We’d like to address a few of the specific points raised in your review: Regarding the outdoor furniture — wooden garden furniture inevitably weathers over time due to exposure to the elements, which is a normal and unavoidable aspect of outdoor use. However, to clarify, the outdoor table was purchased new only two or three years ago, and six of the outdoor chairs were replaced in May this year . While they may show signs of being outdoors, they are certainly not neglected or excessively worn. In the games room, the writing on the bar is not random graffiti, but rather part of the character and charm of the property. As a long-standing feature, guests are encouraged — at the owner's request — to sign their names or leave a small message as a memento of their visit. With regard to the atrium leak, we understand your frustration and apologise for any inconvenience caused. The owners alerted us to the issue when they stayed at the end of August and we had a specialist window repair team attend the property on 3rd September to investigate and resolve this issue; we will of course follow up to ensure this has been fully rectified. As for the towel rail in the master bedroom, it is in working order. The switch to activate it is located just outside the bathroom, low down on the right-hand side of the door — a detail that may be easy to overlook. We will ensure this is more clearly communicated to guests in future to avoid any confusion. We’re pleased to hear you still found the games room enjoyable and appreciated the location and parking, and we do thank you for returning to the property. The owners are very mindful about keeping the property updated and had nearly all rooms repainted at the beginning of the year as well as having all dining-room chairs recovered. We and the owners take all guest feedback seriously and are continually reviewing ways to improve the experience. Thank you again for your comments.-John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owners Property Owner
