“We just came back from an amazing week at Pebblestones.”

We loved the property and the views from the two bedrooms and lounge were spectacular! The bedrooms are all decorated beautifully as we were initially worried as there are no photos of the twin room and other double. The kitchen was very well stocked and we were impressed with the cupboards being stuffed full of board games to play with, there were even some buckets and spades and nets! The utility room was useful for showering down sandy wetsuits and hanging them out to dry. The only thing that was a bit of a shame was that we couldn't eat outside due to the crazy seagulls as they will dive down and steal your food (a neighbour told us that it is nesting season and the baby seagulls should fly away soon and they should calm down). Fine for drinks though! The only minor issues we had was that the hot water in the family bathroom can suddenly go very hot so you have to be careful. It was fine in the ensuite as it was electric though. Also Ideally the showers could do with a deep clean around the base of the shower tray. I gave them a quick scrub and clean and they looked better after. We found Port Isaac lovely and a perfect base to explore the coast. We enjoyed pizza at The Angry Anchovy, and Sunday dinner at The Golden Lion and The Mote. We visited Polzeath, went body boarding at Constantine and our children loved jumping off the rocks at the 'Mermaid' natural sea pool at Trevone Bay and swimming at Port Gaverne. We even went swimming there at 9.30 pm one evening! All in all a great stay and we would love to return!

With generous bright rooms and tasteful furnishings, Pebblestones is perfect for family and friends as it accommodates 6 people in 3 bedrooms, with allocated parking for one vehicle. The open-plan living area is spacious and light, with tall, wide windows framing the view of the harbour and ocean beyond; open the French windows onto the terrace to let the sea air in on a summer's day. Underfloor heating ensures Pebblestones is warm and dry, with an additional wood burner in the sitting room to light on cooler days. A useful and large utility room is the ideal place to store muddy hiking boots and damp wetsuits.Port Isaac is a charming, quintessential, Cornish fishing village with a dramatic location between tall rugged cliffs; a photographer's dream. Descend down Rose Hill and the quaint narrow paths to the old village and harbour; seek out Squeezebelly Alley (the narrowest thoroughfare in England) amid the pretty, whitewashed fishermen's cottages. Relax on the slipway or on the beach to watch the fishermen at work and visit the fish cellars to purchase the catch of the day for an easy supper. Just around the cliff, Port Gaverne is a pretty little shingle beach, lovely for a swim or a paddle; the cliff that juts out alongside is known as The Main, a superb spot for a picnic or just to sit and look at the glorious views along the coast. Real ale fans will enjoy tasting the excellent selection of locally brewed beers on offer in the Port Gaverne Inn, or the Golden Lion in Port Isaac.Accommodation: Open plan Sitting Room/Dining Room/Kitchen, sea and harbour views Bedroom 1: King size bed (5'), en suite Shower/WC, sea and harbour views Bedroom 2: Twin beds, sea and harbour views Bedroom 3: Double bed (4'6) Bathroom/Shower/WC Utility /Shower Room Sorry No Pets.

About the location

PORT ISAAC

Polzeath 6.5 miles; Padstow 16 miles

Port Isaac; one of the true Cornish treasures. A beautiful fishing village nestling in a steep sided valley, the old village in the valley remains unchanged from its days of fishing, slate export and smuggling in the previous century. An abundance of small character properties complemented by larger cliff-top retreats, can be found with easy access to the numerous restaurants and shops of the village. The sandy harbour provides an abundance of rock pools as the tide retreats. There is ample parking at the top of the village and the village is a popular tourist destination with plenty of attractions including the dramatic Doyden Castle, the beautiful Lundy Bay and the famous Doc Martin's clinic. There are also plenty of pubs, restaurants, and shops in the village. Just a short drive from the beaches of Polzeath, Daymer and Rock, it is perfect for romantic and family holidays alike.
