    “Very good stay at Upper Deck, great location and very well presented this time, this was our 4th stay and would recommend this acconodation for anyone who enjoys the Rock area of Cornwall.”

    We have booked again for May 2024 also noticed the restaurant below is being converted to an apartment and mentioned it to the cleaners when we left would interested in renting this for future stays so would like to know when it will be available.

The property

Upper Deck, as the name suggests, is a top floor waterside apartment overlooking the Camel Estuary and over towards Padstow on the north Cornwall coast. This self catering holiday home occupies an enviable location within a few strides of Rock beach, estuary sports, restaurants and local shops. The top floor, penthouse location, combined with the choice of two balconies, accessed up a flight of steps behind the Rock Inn, is the perfect vantage point to relax and watch the world go by. Comfortably sleeping six guests in three contemoporary bedrooms, this is the ideal holiday home for a small family or group. Park up in the two spaces provided and forget about the car during your stay. From the moment you enter, you are instantly welcomed with the calm interiors guiding you into the sociable living space flooded with natural light through velux windows and balconies making the most of the ocean view. Open up the doors onto front or side balcony with panoramic views of Rock beach and the Camel Estuary. From here, you can enjoy a relaxing breakfast or a sundowner with the ocean as your backdrop. After a day learning how to water ski, or tackling a hike on the coast path, that holiday feel still remains on your return sinking into a chair with a refreshing local tipple. Whilst there is a plethora of restuarants to choose from nearby, the contemporary kitchen area is well equipped to prepare that delicious holiday special. Upper Deck has a choice of three generously sized bedrooms where you can fall asleep listening to the waves running onto shore while the tides change. Watersports enthusiasts will appreciate Upper Deck's position opposite Rock beach with the Camel Ski School, the perfect place to book in some water ski lessons whether you are a beginner or simply wanting to challenge your board skills or for those wanting to explore the coastline from the water, you can hire paddle boards from here. The coast path starts opposite your doorstep, either onto the beach at low tide or through the dunes on the coastal path, around to Daymer Bay or the Greenaway. With the Rock Inn being on the first floor, you can enjoy a meal and a evening beverage before you turn in for the night or for a quiet night in, you can order a meal to the top floor by booking in advance. Further alluring options to dine or refresh yourselves nearby, The Taproom, Blue Tomato or you can wander up the road to the Mariners Pub and let local chef Paul Ainsworth’s team tempt you with their menu and a pick-me-up by Sharp’s Brewery. To revel in a little seaside retail therapy, visit the few shops on the ground floor or take the ferry across from Rock beach to Padstow and potter around the picturesque harbour. There is a private small outside store by the parking spaces. Parking space marked Apartment 2 behind the building and in the adjacent car park. Please park as close as you can to the front to ensure there is enough room for the bin collection. This is a pet free apartment.

Rock is a desirable and much sought after coastal village located on the north eastern bank of the River Camel opposite the famous harbour town of Padstow which is easily reached by a regular ferry service. The summer home of royalty and celebrities offering top class restaurants and quality shops, the real draw is the array of watersports including sailing, water skiing, windsurfing and angling. Continuing on a sporting theme, the golf course at nearby St Enodoc is considered to be one of the best in the country. With an abundance of world class beaches all within a short radius it is easy to see why Rock holds its popularity.
