“Trevian is a lovely house and we would love to stay again.”

There were only a couple of things which were disappointing- apparently there should have been a welcome pack (I gather from other reviews, this has been an issue). The other issue was one of the single duvets had a stain on it which looked like old blood - it was a very small area. I saw on a previous review this had been an issue on a mattress protector. I did email Sykes cottages about these but as of yet, I have not received a reply. Disappointing. The higher level cleaning could do with ...

The other issue was one of the single duvets had a stain on it which looked like old blood - it was a very small area. I saw on a previous review this had been an issue on a mattress protector. I did email Sykes cottages about these but as of yet, I have not received a reply. Disappointing. The higher level cleaning could do with improving as there were cobwebs and spiders that definitely didn’t appear overnight. Some of the pans and cutlery needed washing before I could use them - I appreciate you are relying on guests to clean things thoroughly after using items. However, once I sorted this it was fine. These were only small things. We were otherwise really impressed and were sad to leave this lovely home. The facilities for laundry were great, particularly as the weather wasn’t too kind to us.

The property

An attractive holiday home is located in the heart of Rock, Trevian is a short walk from the excellent shops and services of the village and a quick journey to the beautiful local beaches.

The property has a charming, open-plan kitchen/diner leading into a conservatory; this lovely, light second sitting room looks out onto a large level lawn, perfect for garden games.

Ideally suited to families, Trevian sleeps 6 people in 3 bedrooms, one of which is a bunk room.

A generous driveway in front of the house provides plenty of space for vehicles and boat trailers. The country-style kitchen is very attractive and well-equipped; a lovely space to whip up some scones for a Cornish cream tea or a simple lunch with fresh fish from the fishmongers nearby.

A utility room and shower room are accessed externally; so useful for rinsing off the salt after a dip in the sea and the ideal place to leave wetsuits to dry.Perfectly positioned to take advantage of all the attractions of North Cornwall, a holiday here in Rock ticks the boxes for all the family.

Follow the footpath nearby to enjoy a beautiful stroll across the fields down to Porthilly cove and to Rock beach beyond.

Sailors, water skiers and paddle-boarders will be kept busy exploring the Camel Estuary; equipment and lessons can be booked at Rock waterfront.

Keen and budding surfers should head to Polzeath beach to immerse themselves in surfing vibes and the white waters of this popular beach resort; afterwards satisfy hunger pangs at one of the many great cafes and restaurants: try Masterchef winner James Nathan at the St Enodoc Hotel; visit Nathan Outlaw in Port Isaac or, of course, Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant or Bistro just across the estuary in Padstow.Ground Floor: Sitting Room Open plan Kitchen/Dining Room/Conservatory External utility room with shower & W.C.
