“Cleaning of balcony non-existent, and patio area not clean - cobwebs everywhere.”

Gate doesn't close properly and bangs constantly at night in wind. Cobwebs in Main Bedroom! 2 lights not working in Bathroom Information booklet had to be searched for (only generic info contained therein) and found with out-of-date other information 10+ years (including from previous managing agents). Suggest all of this could be improved quickly for other visitors - quick fix. We actually also visited your office on Monday 7th but to date our query still remains unanswered - about drinks left ...

The property

Set within a small group of individual, privately owned holiday homes, this pretty chalet-style holiday home is the ideal base for a peaceful family break on the North Cornwall coast. Appointed with gorgeous vaulted ceilings and a light filled fresh interior, Alpine Lodge has a beautiful countryside outlook and is a very short stroll from Rock beach, wild sand dunes and the network coast paths that glide around the coastline. Self-catering for up to 6 guests in 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, perfect for small families sharing or for couples and parking on site. Imagine the perfect traditional wooden beach chalet in Cornwall, with all the comfort and equipment you would expect from a retreat. Park up and walk into a home with an instantly welcoming ambiance. Upstairs is a light and spacious open plan living space with a fully fitted kitchen diner, well equipped with everything you could need to enjoy some Cornish inspired self-catering. Sink into the comfortable sofas after a day beside the sea, play a family board game or you could open up the balcony doors and enjoy evening drinks as dusk falls. The ground floor comprises of the three bedrooms and family bathroom offer a contemporary holiday haven. To the front of the house the master suite with a king size bed and ensuite bathroom continues the palette of sophisticated calm tones. The king bedroom set in the rear of the house set into the hill and shares the family bathroom with the remaining bunk bedroom. The ground floor TV room gives a fantastic separate snug for adults or older children to have their own space to curl up in and watch their favourite film in the evenings after a blissful day at the beach. This room features a comfortable small double sofa bed that linen can be provided for on request, instead of using both of the bunk beds to give flexibility in sleeping options for 6 guests. The outside area provides plenty of seating in the garden, on the patio or you can climb the steps up to the top of the garden and soak in the fresh sea air. Head out for a stroll through Rock, with it's many shops, restaurants and pubs that lead straight to the Camel Estuary and seaside adventures. Scenic coastal walks are all around with each new route promising better views, so definitely pack your walking boots. For sailing, power boating and water-skiing head to the Rock Sailing Club or the Camel Sailing and Powerboat Centre. At Rock you can also catch the ferry across to Padstow to explore this vibrant harbour town and it's many fine restaurants including Rick Stein's and Paul Ainsworth. In the evenings catch the water taxi home against a backdrop of twinkling lights. Golf enthusiasts can enjoy The St Enodoc Golf Club or The Point at Polzeath Golf Club, both within walking distance from Alpine Lodge. For some pampering head to the spa's at St Enodoc Hotel or The Point at Polzeath for some me-time. Surfers and paddle boarders will prefer Polzeath beach further around the headland where Atlantic swells produce some of Britain's best waves. Just 10 minutes up the road is the picturesque village of Port Isaac, home to the Doc Martin TV series, the Fisherman's Friends and a working harbour. Take time out to eat a bag of fish and chips on the harbour wall as the sun sinks below the horizon - you won't regret it First Floor Open plan kitchen, diner and living area Ground Floor Bedroom 1: Master king bedroom with bathroom ensuite; bath and overhead shower, hand basin and W.C Bedroom 2: Double room Bedroom 3: Bunk bedroom TV room - if preferred for adults or older children, the small double sofa bed in the TV Room can have linen provided instead of one/both of the bunk beds. Please phone to request if so (notice required at least 7 days before arrival) and also note, the maximum occupancy of the house is 6 guests in total in either configuration.
