Cartaway Cove is set in a divine clifftop position surrounded by its own gardens. Outstanding panoramic sea views, over the valley, Port Gaverne and Port Isaac can be enjoyed from this idyllic self-catering holiday cottage. With its southerly aspect soaking up all available sunshine and located just a step off the glorious South West coastal path, it is ideal for holidaying all year round. Cartway Cove is only a few minutes walk to the seashore and 17th century Port Gaverne Inn and is a perfect seaside retreat for a large family sleeping 6 in 3 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms.
A large west-facing window takes advantage of spectacular sunsets over the sea. Make use of the garden furniture on the slate paved terrace for family meals on warm days whilst soaking up the sun and sea air. Children will love the pretty little summerhouse where young homemakers can play imaginary games. A wooden decked balcony joins the colourful kitchen/dining /living room and there are squidgy sofas to relax on, if the weather draws you inside. There's a King size bed on the first floor, with zip and link twin beds on the ground floor which can be converted to form a very sizeable Super King bed and a twin bedded room.
Port Gaverne is now a tranquil and unspoilt cove, but evidence of an industrious past is evident in the building and structures all round; from loading lime-rich sea sand and pilchards, then transportation of slate and finally simply a peaceful spot for locals and visitors to enjoy. The coastal path from the beach uses the road briefly at Cartway Cove then follows the the dramatic cliffs drop down onto Trebarwith Strand which is a serious and arduous walk, not for the faint hearted but a fantastic challenge for seasoned walkers. Trebarwith Strand, less than a 20-minute drive away, is a popular surfing spot at any time of the year. In the other direction Polzeath is another boogie-boarding and surfing destination and only a 15-minute drive away.
