“Lovely little place in rock, great value for money.”

Would stay here again. The only thing I would say is that the place has too much stuff in it; seemed every surface had some kind of knickknack on it, there were mobiles hanging everywhere (if I ever see a string of hanging shells again I’ll scream) and things like lampshades and table lamps were just way too big. Would stay here again. The only thing I would say is that the place has too much stuff in it; seemed every surface had some kind of knickknack on it, there were mobiles hanging everywhere (if I ever see a string of hanging shells again I’ll scream) and things like lampshades and table lamps were just way too big. If you watch “sort your life out”, Stacey Solomon always says clear out half your stuff; it would probably be nearer to three quarters there, and it wouldn’t detract from the seaside theme. As much as anything it would probably make the place easier to clean (that’s why I marked it down on this). It won’t stop us from staying there again, but I probably wouldn’t go with young children I because I would worry about them breaking something.

Homely touches such as the charming patchwork quilts on the beds all contrive to make you feel quite at home. The pretty main bedroom has a king sized bed and the two further ones are twin bedded. The well-designed lounge/dining room flows towards a balcony, with elevated countryside views. After nipping up to the newsagents and Rock bakery for croissants you could spread the papers out and enjoy some peace and quiet on the balcony. Sunbathing and alfresco meals can also be enjoyed on the sheltered decking area. For rainy days, the owners have provided games, books and DVDs to entertain you while you relax on the comfy stripy sofas, and buckets and spades, body-boards, picnic set and windbreak for sunny ones, so you might have to hustle the troops to actually leave Rocklings and explore the surrounding areas. Sailors can walk round to the sailing club or ski school at Rock and have a go at any of the water sports available there.
