The property

Morwenna is a spacious character house in Port Isaac on the North Cornwall coast, offering comfortable family accommodation with a south facing garden and parking for two vehicles. Located on the outskirts of the old part of Port Isaac, it is just a few minutes walk down the hill to the harbour and the beach. The pretty cove and safe bathing beach of Port Gaverne is approximately a 10 minute walk. With its beautiful wood floors, slate flagstone and exposed beams, Morwenna makes a very attractive holiday home, accommodating 9 people in 5 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms. The smart kitchen/family room is beautifully finished in a mix of natural materials; a roof light and large sash window illuminates the family room. A large duel fuel range, plenty of storage and granite worktops make the kitchen a welcoming and well equipped space. There is a useful utility room off the family room with a shower room. Four bedrooms are located on the first floor, a king size with an en-suite shower room; one double, one twin and a single room, all sharing a family bathroom. The fifth bedroom, with vaulted ceiling and part exposed stone walls, is accessed via stairs leading from the family room.In the last few years Port Isaac has become well known as the fictional 'Port Wenn' - the setting for the Doc Martin. Fans of the TV series can join a 'walk and talk' tour of the village, sometimes even spot the film crews in action, and purchase Doc Martin memorabilia from the local shops. Port Isaac's other claim to fame, other than its own historic beauty of course, is the 'Fisherman's Friends', a sea shanty singing group, now so popular that they tour all over and appear at music festivals. You can hear them singing live on the Platt by the harbour in the summer.Ground Floor: Sitting Room Dining Room Open plan Kitchen/Family Room Utility Room Shower Room/WC First Floor: Bedroom 1: King size bed (5ft) with en-suite Shower/WC Bedroom 2: Double bed Bedroom 3: Twin beds Bedroom 4: Single bed Bathroom/WC Bed 5: Double bed (4ft). About the location

Port Isaac; one of the true Cornish treasures. A beautiful fishing village nestling in a steep sided valley, the old village in the valley remains unchanged from its days of fishing, slate export and smuggling in the previous century. An abundance of small character properties complemented by larger cliff-top retreats, can be found with easy access to the numerous restaurants and shops of the village. The sandy harbour provides an abundance of rock pools as the tide retreats. Only ten minutes drive from the beaches of Polzeath, Daymer and Rock, it is perfect for romantic and family holidays alike. There is ample parking at the top of the village.
