Dolphin Cottage boasts a fine position amongst some of the prettiest traditional Cornish cottages and gardens in Port Isaac on the North Cornwall coast. Just yards from the picturesque little working fishing harbour that plays host to the TV series Doc Martin, this immaculate self catering holiday property sleeps up to 6 guests in 3 bedrooms and offers stylish, spacious accommodation on three floors. With the benefit of a sun drenched patio and parking for one vehicle Dolphin Cottage (please ask for details) is a real jewel in Port Isaac's crown - go on, spoil yourself!
The whole of the ground floor has been opened to create a large light filled living space with a modern galley kitchen with everything neatly to hand. Pop down to the fish market before returning to prepare fresh and tasty meals for a hungry family; perhaps dining outside on the verdant patio in the sunshine, to recount the day's adventures. After a day out exploring the north Cornwall coast, you can cosy up by a roaring wood burner to watch a family movie, or put tired kids to bed and put your feet up with a glass of wine and a novel from the selection on offer. The chic living room has plenty of comfy sofas to relax in. The property has been decorated in a boutique hotel style, with a generous double bedroom and a light twin bedroom on the first floor, both sharing the family bathroom. On the second floor tucked into the eaves is a further twin room that is bright and cheerful, with an ensuite shower room.
The bustling harbour at Port Isaac is just a short walk down through the town along it's pretty winding streets. There are plenty of delicious cafes and fine restaurants on offer, along with shops and galleries just perfect for a spot of retail therapy. At low tide children will love exploring the rock-pools and shells left on the beach and walking out to the harbour wall. Venture out on the coastal paths to take in the breathtaking scenery and coastline. Wander down to adjacent Port Gaverne for a spot of wild swimming followed by hot chips and a pint in the Port Gaverne Inn. For more adventures try kayaking at Port Quin or pack the kids, the boogie boards, buckets & spades in the car and head off to Polzeath for some exhilarating wave riding, or Daymer Bay for a picnic on the beach. For watersports including sailing or waterskiing, head to Rock where you can hire equipment or book tuition at the Rock Sailing Club and the Camel Ski School.
There is a spiral staircase to first and second floors so care should be taken with small children.
Please note the Double bed has king size duvet. The parking is accessed down one of Port Isaacs narrow streets - please ask for details.
