Spring arrives in North Cornwall well ahead the rest of the UK, making it an ideal time to explore...
With the first break of the year around the corner, here’s a look at some ideas of things to do in North Cornwall during February half term.
Cycle the Camel Trail
Enjoy amazing views along the Camel Estuary and experience a wonderful family day out. From Wadebridge, cycle to Padstow for a delicious seafood lunch and back, or the other direction to Bodmin and pop in at Camel Valley vineyards. Bikes are easy to rent from local companies including; Camel Trail Cycle Hire, Bike Smart Hire or Bridge Bike Hire.
Ice Skating at The Eden Project
For a fun adventure, head just 30 minutes towards Bodmin and you will find The Eden Project, famous for indoor Biomes, fascinating exhibits and fun activities. One of which is ice skating! Open until the 23rd of February, the indoor ice-skating rink is a must! Spend the day whizzing around, seeing plants from all over the world and enjoying delicious Cornish cream teas or hot Cornish pasties from the cafés and restaurants.
Book a surf lesson
Get your wetsuit on and hit the waves with a surf lesson! Head to Polzeath beach for a day in the water and book yourself a lesson and/or equipment hire with Wavehunters, found right on the beach.
A wellie walk
There is nothing better than a good old-fashioned walk in the countryside, on the beach or along the cliff tops with your wellies on. Wrap up warm, pack a flask of hot chocolate and head out for fresh air, beautiful views and discovering Cornish nature. Read about our staff recommended walks here.
Just between Newquay and Padstow, you will find St. Eval Kart Racing Circuit. The 1.3km outdoor track is designed for 7 year olds plus and is open in rain or shine, perfect for an adrenaline filled day out! Visit their website here for more information on prices, times, etc.
