Why book a Polzeath holiday cottage?

Polzeath is a small village lying on the North Cornwall coast. These Polzeath cottages are often described as a haven for surfers and beach lovers alike, thanks to the wide and shallow sandy Polzeath Beach.

The village enjoys a relaxed beach town feel, with a community of shops, businesses, restaurants and pubs. It was also a favourite haunt of the late poet laureate Sir John Betjeman.

Polzeath holiday cottages are huddled around Hayle Bay, with some sitting further down towards Daymer Bay. They offer a great central location for enjoying the many quaint villages of North Cornwall.

Things to do on a Polzeath cottage holiday

Trips to this Blue Flag and lifeguard-patrolled beach are a must for any watersports enthusiasts. Polzeath Beach itself is a magnificent stretch of golden sand, and is acclaimed as being one of the best surfing beaches in Britain.

Although generally a safe beach, Polzeath can get large surf and rips, so care should be taken at all times. This is also why there are lifeguards on the beach in the summer season.

Enjoy some refreshing walks from your Polzeath cottage. From Polzeath, the coastal path skirts New Polzeath high on the cliffs overlooking Hayle Bay. Here you will find Baby Bay, a lovely little cove away from the hubbub of the main beach. The path continues up to Pentire Point, and onto The Rumps.

Continue south and inland along the Camel Estuary and head for Rock to enjoy more watersporting fun and more exciting restaurants. A quick ferry trip across to Padstow from here can bring you to the National Lobster Hatchery, as well as Prideaux Place and Camel Creek Adventure Park.
